We are sad to share the news of the passing of Don James Robertson. Don, a retired Ladysmith sawmill worker, spent a lifetime working in sawmills on Vancouver Island. He was a strong advocate of worker’s rights and staunch supporter of the PPWC (Public and Private Workers of Canada). Armed with the foresight of possible sawmill closures, Don was known for rallying other members from his Local and marching in every raw log protest.
The memories of Don’s stalwart contributions on behalf of workers and the PPWC was integral to our organization. His legacy will remain with us for years to come. Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Leona, children, family, and friends.
