Labour Day marks the unofficial ending of summer celebrated on the first Monday of September since 1894. Originally workers campaigned tirelessly for better working conditions and pay. Unions held rallies and parades to fight for fairness.  Today, people and communities across our nation enjoy the accomplishments of the labour movement with BBQ’s, summer picnics or appreciating the day in their own way.

The PPWC celebrates this day with you along with a reminder of the benefit of having a union at work and of those who fought to improve working conditions to bring you this holiday.
